September 2010-2011: WELCOME BACK!!!

The first school day for students is Tuesday, September 7, 2010. We are looking forward to seeing all McCrae students and we hope everyone had a great summer! Mr. Curran and Mrs. Castle are working hard to clean the school for the new school year and teachers are preparing classrooms for their new students! Welcome to our new Junior Kindergarten students and to our new students at other grade levels!

We will have 11 Kindergarten classes in September. We will also have an additional 3 portables bringing the total to 5 portables. Our Grades 4 and 5 classes will be located in the portables. This September we are welcoming some new teachers, a new Vice-Principal, and a new Office Coordinator, Kathy Lambkin to our school. Our new Vice-Principal is Janet Parr, formerly the Vice-Principal at Sir Isaac Brock P.S. We wish everyone a happy and successful 2010-2011 school year!

First Day of School September 7th forTues./Thur. Kindergarten and Grades 1-6 Students:

The school day begins at 8:50 a.m. All class lists will be posted in the main hallways. Please check the lists for your child's teacher and classroom number.

At 8:50 a.m.:

1. Tuesday/Thursday Senior Kindergarten students and parents will meet in the west side of the gym ( near the stage) to meet the teachers.
2. Grades 1 and 2 students will meet in the east side of the gym, near the office, to be placed with their teacher.
3. Grade 3 students will go to the library to meet their teachers.
4. Grades 4 and 5 students will meet their teachers at the portables.
5. Grade 6 students will go directly to their classrooms.
6. The first day for Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten students is Wednesday, September 8.

Junior Kindergarten Staggered Entry:

All families with Junior Kindergarten students will have received a letter confirming the date and time of the staggered entry appointment for your child. If you have not received this information, please contact the school during the week of August 30th.

1. The staggered entry day for the Monday/Wednesday JK group will be Wednesday,
   September 15. The first full day for these students is Monday, September 20.
2. The staggered entry day for the Tuesday/Thursday JK group will be Thursday September 16. The first full day for this JK group will be Friday, September 17.

Other Dates to Remember

Our annual Curriculum Evenings by Grade level will take place during the weeks of September 13th and 20th. More information will follow.

There will be a School Council information Evening on Monday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. The first regular School Council Meeting will be held on Monday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m.
