Student Evaluations & Reporting

Evaluation of student progress is an ongoing process that is an integral part of all learning activities. Its purpose is to find the student’s areas of strength and weakness in order that appropriate programs of review, re-teaching, or enrichment may be provided. Classroom participation, daily classroom work, projects, notebooks, homework, informal and formal testing and standardized tests are used to help evaluate a student’s progress. Standardized Ministry of Education Report Cards will be used to report Student Progress to parents. These Report Cards reflect the Ontario Curriculum that will continue to be implemented. These final documents will be received once, each of three terms. We encourage parents to complete page three of these reports. This valuable input will help us to work together to assist in your child’s growth and development.

Formal progress reporting occasions will be supplemented by communication throughout the year. Don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher directly or the office if you have information or concerns that may assist us in meeting your child’s needs more fully. The student Agenda Planner is an excellent means to share written communications.
