Visitors to Canada

As a visitor to Canada you can study English as a Second Language at St. George’s Centre for ESL for six months or less without a study permit.

If you want to study English for more than six months, you need to get authorization to study from the Canadian government before you leave your country.

The school will provide you with a letter of acceptance. In order to provide a letter of acceptance, St. George’s Centre will require the following information from the student:

  • family name, first name and (if any) middle names as they appear on the visitor’s passport
  • address in country of origin
  • date of birth
  • part-time or full-time
  • start and finish dates

After registration, the student will have a placement test. When the student’s language level is determined, the student will receive a class schedule.

Students must pay for classes before they begin.

The student will receive a payment schedule.

Payment can be made by cash, debit card, credit card, or cheque on a Canadian bank account.

Please note all fees and costs are subject to change without prior notice.

Please contact St. George’s Centre for more information.

Please note that if a letter of attendance or a certificate is required, St. George’s office will require three business days before the student’s last day of classes to prepare the letter or certificate.

Temporary Residents

Temporary residents in Canada on a work permit or a study permit must pay for ESL classes as St. George’s Centre.
