Annual Student Art Show - Dufferin County Museum and Archives
Saturday, May 12 to Sunday, June 17
In partnership with Headwater Arts, DCMA is proud to host this annual show and sale of original art works, featuring the very best talent from Westside Secondary School, Orangeville, Orangeville District Secondary School, Orangeville, Mayfield Secondary School, Caledon. Erin District High School, Erin, Humberview District High School, Bolton, Banting Memorial High School, Alliston and Centre Dufferin District High School, Shelburne.
While at the Museum, be sure to pick up a ballot for the DCMA’s “People’s Choice” Award and cast your vote for your favourite student artist. Then, join us on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17th , at 2pm for the Annual Student Art Show Awards Ceremony and see who get the prizes for the Russel, Mappin, Headwaters Arts and Best School Art Program of the Year Awards, along with the DCMA’s People's Choice Award, as voted by you, the public. Come out and support our youth and the arts! Don’t miss out on seeing all the fabulous student art work while it’s here on display at the Museum!

The 2012 School Climate Survey for Parents and Guardians is now available online. The survey information will be used by principals and teachers to help them promote an environment of respect, safety, and belonging for all students.
The CDDHS 2011-2012 School Year Timetable and Calendar, 2011-12 School Brochure, Staff Phone Extensions and Locker Rules are now available.
Extra help is available for students every day from 12:00 to 12:25 pm in Cyberplace (Rm 75 on Day 4), Science help in Rm 88 on days 2 and 4, and Math help in Rm 26. The library is also open all of lunch for students who need to use a computer or need a space to do work. Help is available from staff in the library if students need assistance with computers or finding books or reference materials. The library is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm every day.
Once again this year, math students in Grades 7 to 10 will have access to live, interactive, online math help through the expansion of a pilot project funded by the Ministry of Education. Homework Help is free, real-time math tutoring by certified Ontario teachers.
- Manon Racine, BScRN, who is here Monday and Thursday is a Public Health Nurse (PHN). Ms. Racine can be reached at 519-925-2244, ext. 277 or at the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health Unit at 1-800-265-7293, ext. 5630. PHN help students achieve an optimum level of health by offering:
Classroom Presentations: The PHN supports school health curriculum such as birth control, sexually transmitted infections and sexuality.
Health Promotion: The PHN works with school committees and campaigns to create a healthy school environment for students.
Health Services: The PHN offers individual counselling about physical activity, nutrition, body image, smoking cessation and healthy relationships. PHN also offer pregnancy tests, birth control counselling and testing for sexually transmitted infections.
NOTE: The PHN does not offer first aid or attend to health emergencies. Ill or injured students are required to report to the main office of the school immediately.
- EQAO results for Literacy, Math and grades 3 and 6 are available on line at www.eqao.com along with tips for parents and students.
Dress Code at Centre Dufferin
Dress is a form of expressing individuality, however, staff and students at Centre Dufferin must dress in a manner which neither offends nor distracts others because of immodesty or offensive logos or language.
Therefore the following applies:
- No clothing or hats illustrating alcohol, drugs, racial or religious slurs, inappropriate language or slogans.
- Shorts and skirts must be appropriate length (eg. end of fingertips with arms extended)
- Tops and bottoms must meet
- No inappropriate top exposure
- No underwear showing
- Students may be offered items of school clothing to wear during the school day so that they are dressed in an appropriate manner.
