Student Responsibilities

In order to ensure a safe environment for all individuals at Brisbane, we expect each student to:

  • Treat others with respect and kindness
  • Accept responsibility for personal actions
  • Fulfill expected academic obligations and respect the right of others to learn
  • Come to school punctually each day, prepared and willing to learn
  • Obey the rules of the school and other sites visited during school activities
  • Obey all school staff and helpers
  • Demonstrate respect for self, others and property
  • Be honest and trustworthy
  • Use peaceful means to resolve conflict
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself
  • Dress appropriately in accordance with the school Code of Positive Student Behaviour
  • Use courteous respectful language and good manners at all times
  • Respect equipment and materials belonging to the school, staff and others
  • Work hard at your classroom work and do the best you can do
  • If you were absent it is your responsibility to collect, complete and submit missed work.

If you fail to live up to the school's expectations, you may be subjected to certain consequences.

Consequences

  • You may lose privileges
  • You may be asked to leave the classroom
  • You may get a detention
  • Your teacher may call your parents
  • You may lose extra curricular activity privileges
  • You may have to make a verbal or written apology
  • You may have to pay for something you break or damage
  • You may have t o meet with the Principal to correct your behaviour
  • You may have to complete a 'Problem Solving Worksheet'
  • You may have t o attend an interview with your parents, your teacher and the Principal
  • You may be suspended from school or excluded from school programs
