James McQueen Public School

Parent/Teacher/Student Communication

We at James McQueen believe that it takes all of us working together to educate our children. It is important that we take advantage of every opportunity to share information and make plans for each child’s growth. Early in the school year we will publish the dates of formal evaluation and reporting periods. In addition to these opportunities, here is a list of some of the other ways to communicate with your school:

  • Planner/Agenda: Please read this every evening to find out important dates and assignments. Write notes back to the teacher in the designated spaces.
  • Telephone Calls: Teachers can be reached before and after school; the secretary will take a message so that the teacher can return your call; you can leave a voice mail message (follow instructions).
  • Classroom Visits: Besides the scheduled OPEN HOUSE there are other various opportunities to visit and help out in your child’s classroom.
  • School Newsletters: These are published monthly and are sent home during the last week of every month with the youngest or only child in each family. Look for information regarding events and issues.
